Contents: Fundamentals of Physical and Body-Related Ergonomics—Fundamentals of Cognitive Ergonomics—Theories of Driver Behavior—Interface Design—Usability TestingLearning Objectives:An ergonomic vehicle is optimally adapted to the requirements, needs, and characteristics of its users, thereby enabling effective, efficient, and satisfying interaction. After completing the lecture, students will be able to analyze and evaluate the ergonomic quality of various vehicle concepts and derive design recommendations. In doing so, they will be able to take into account aspects of both physical and cognitive ergonomics. Students are familiar with fundamental ergonomic methods, theories, and concepts, as well as with theories of human information processing, particularly driver behavior. They are able to critically discuss this knowledge and apply it flexibly within the framework of the user-centered design process.
